we planned to go to island creek oyster bar last night, but it was an hour wait so we decided to check out eastern standard kitchen next door instead. i was not prepared to try a new restaurant, so i didnt bring my camera with me. i documented our meal with an iphone. here’s some food pictures. sorry for low quality pictures :(

started with duvel beer and Weingut St. Urbans-Hof Nik Weis Urban Riesling, one of my fave riesling at all times.

jumbo shirmp cocktail – meat was a little too stiff and not super fresh

food at eastern standard kitchen was mediocre. a few dishes were not well executed and underwhelming. seafood wasnt the freshest but passable. although dinner was not too memorable, the service was excellent. extremely friendly and helpful.
