took my parents to san diego last weekend. we stopped by Balboa Park first. there were not many food options in the park. we had lunch at The Prado At Balboa Park. the food was ok for a tourist spot, but nothing special.
Prado’s Paloma – el silencio mezcal, rancho alegre silver, grapefruit
Caipirinha Passion – cachaça 61, sugar, passion fruit
Prado Paella – fresh fish, mussels, shrimp, calamari, chicken, chorizo, lobster saffron broth
Grilled Fish Tacos – marinated mahi mahi, red cabbage-jicama slaw, mango-jalapeno salsa, mango mustard, corn tortillas
Lean Turkey Ziti Bolognese – marinara sauce, basil ricotta
WILL WE COME BACK: no i wouldnt come back to just eat here.
after lunch, we walked around the park. there were a few museums; we checked out The San Diego Museum of Art ($15 pp). it was cool. we also checked out the Botanical Building which was free and i spotted a super cool hummingbird right out the Botanical Building.
after Balboa Park, we drove to La Jolla beach to check out the seals and sea lions. there were so many seals and sea lions and you could get as close as you want. the beach was super smelly, but i was super happy to see the animal super up close.
i def would recommend checking out balboa park and la jolla beach if you are visiting san diego.
